There’s so few games out there that communicate without using words that I just had to give this one a shout out.
So, at some point Elephant Games sat down and said “Right, this whole Riddles of Fate, give it three games and that’s it. Same with Hallowed Legends. Now these other series? Make them work until their bones show.” And I’m not sure whether that’s good or bad.
It’s time to put an end to a specific chapter in Mystery Case Files’ history. The last game before it was handed over to Eipix, a move I daresay I dread, it’s a pretty important game. So let’s look back and see what’s what.
It’s with a sense of nervousness that I return to the blog after a long hiatus. Partly because I haven’t written anything here in a good, long while. But also because I have to pick up with a series where I left on a high note. And now it’s in the hands of another developer.
Hello, faithful reader! Yes, you!
I figured I’d do a quick little update about where I’ve been and where I’m going. Since it’s been a while since I wrote here.
This last year or so, roughly 14 or 15 months, I’ve been staying in Spain, working on a contract. For most of the time, I just didn’t have the facilities to comfortably play and write about games so I only occasionally, when the urge for HOPA grew too strong. Instead I’ve been focusing on clearing out a bit of my old catalog at work, playing through quite a few of the Artifex Mundi games I’ve accumulated on Steam over the years but never played. Including a few old ones that I just wasn’t very sure whether I had played and if I had, it was a very long time ago.
Perhaps in more interesting news, I haven’t given up on my reviewer dreams, though. Instead I’ve been reviewing books over at Goodreads. You cand find my profile here. If you’re interested at all in books and my review, I highly recommend you go over to read about them. That site really did change my reading habits as it opened up the world of books to me as I before saw its a rather dreary world, filled with fantasy and dull books about reality.
So go check that out if you’re a reader like me! If you’re on goodreads and want to friend me, go right ahead! I might eventually start bringing over my reviews of books here as well but for now I’m gonna keep it over there.
So that’s where I’ve been most of the time. But where am I going? Well, the truth is I’m not entirely sure.
As of right now I’m only indefinite vacation, aka unemployed. I’m taking the time to catch up on a few other things in my life that I couldn’t maintain while in Spain and it’s taking me a while to pick up all the pieces.
But I will definitely be continuing on with my blog as it was for now, getting back into HOPA significantly more but I also want to get back into tokusatsu and Doctor Who, a post I’ve been ignoring to write on for more than a year now. It might even be two years as I’m too lazy to check when I started writing it right now. But it’s been keeping me from watching more classic Doctor Who which is a bit of a sore spot for me. I still have a lot to go on Kamen Rider Gaim as well so I should definitely take a look at that. Literally.
I am also looking into a few other projects I may or may not start depending on various factors in life and my own laziness.
So in short, I’m back home and I’ve improved my conditions at home enough that I can regularly work at home which I couldn’t before so from now on it should be somewhat more regular with updates.
